1. About Translova

Translova ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-assisted document translation service operated as a sole trader business in the United Kingdom. We provide translation and plain-language explanation services for official, legal, and administrative documents.

By using Translova at translova.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

2. Nature of the service — critical disclaimer

You must not submit Translova translations as certified translations for visa applications, court proceedings, official government submissions, or any purpose requiring certified translation by an accredited professional.

Translova translations are designed to help you understand documents you receive. They are not a substitute for professional certified translation where that is required.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Translova. By using our service, you confirm that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Account registration

Free translations do not require an account. If you create an account (for subscription plans), you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that contain false information or violate these Terms.

5. Payments and refunds

Free tier: Documents under 300 words are translated free with no payment required.

Paid translations: Prices are shown before payment. Payment is processed securely. By completing payment, you authorise us to charge the stated amount.

Refund policy: We will issue a full refund if your translation failed to complete due to a technical error on our side. Refunds will be processed within 5 business days. We do not offer refunds for completed translations where the service was delivered as described.

Subscriptions: Subscription payments are taken monthly. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not issue partial refunds for unused subscription periods.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Translova to:

• Translate content that is illegal, defamatory, threatening, or fraudulent
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit our AI systems
• Use automated tools to submit bulk translation requests without our written permission
• Share your account credentials with others
• Misrepresent our translations as certified to any third party

7. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of any documents you upload. By uploading a document, you grant us a temporary, limited licence to process it for translation purposes. This licence terminates when your document is deleted from our systems.

Translova retains all intellectual property rights in the Translova platform, brand, and technology. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from our platform without written permission.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Translova is not liable for:

• Any action taken or not taken based on a Translova translation
• Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in our translations
• Loss of data or documents
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind

Our maximum liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the specific translation in question.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users by email of significant changes. Continued use of Translova after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
