Translova is operated as a sole trader business in the United Kingdom. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

2. What data we collect
The text of documents you submit for translation. This is processed by our AI systems and is NOT permanently stored. Free translations are processed in memory only. Paid translations may be temporarily stored for up to 72 hours to enable email delivery, after which they are automatically deleted.
If you create an account: your name, email address, and country. This is stored in our secure database for as long as your account exists.
If you voluntarily provide your email for delivery of translation results or to receive helpful follow-up information. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Anonymous metrics: document type, language pair, word count, translation date. We do not store the content of your documents in this metadata.
Payment details are processed directly by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details. We store: payment amount, date, and status for our records.
IP address (for rate limiting and security only), browser type, and basic analytics via Google Analytics. This data is anonymised.

4. Who we share data with
Document content is processed by our AI engine. Content is not used to train AI models without your consent.
We share your email and payment amount. We never share card details — these go directly to our payment processor.
Stores account data and translation metadata. SOC 2 compliant. Data stored in the EU.
Used to send translation results and receipts. We share your email address for this purpose only.
If you opt in to receive helpful information. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Our website infrastructure. SOC 2 Type 2 compliant.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your document content with any party beyond those listed above.

7. Cookies
We use minimal cookies: one for authentication state (if you are logged in) and Google Analytics cookies for anonymous usage statistics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our database uses row-level security. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We regularly review our security practices.
